Sustainable Building NSW — Low-Carbon Materials & Practical Delivery
Sustainable construction is strongest when environmental intent and site delivery are designed together. I am interested in material systems that can reduce impact without transferring risk somewhere else.
Embodied energy starts before occupation
The materials, manufacturing, transport and construction required to create a building all carry environmental impact.
Energy efficiency remains essential
The NCC continues to strengthen energy-efficiency requirements, while NSW BASIX and related requirements shape residential performance.
Low-carbon materials need correct detailing
Natural and alternative materials can perform well, but moisture, fire, structure, weathering and workmanship still require rigorous design.
Commercial feasibility matters
A lower-impact system is more likely to scale when labour, supply, programme and cost are understood alongside environmental benefits.
